For Beth's birthday, all she wanted was to rent bicycles and ride them to this place that she had found on the internet that had a pool, beach, bar, etc. Unfortunately, her birthday fell on a Sunday, which made some of these things hard to do. But, not to worry, we waited for the next nice day and took out on the bikes that we rented for the day. After one hour of bike riding out of Florence, we found the beach/lake; However, it was closed for the day. Although, there was nothing there to tell you so except for the empty beach/lake.
This is me looking at a sign that says tutto giorni (or open everyday, all day)... hmmm.
Thankfully, we had some refreshments in the backpack.
We thought we were the only ones in attendance, but we quickly discovered Zara (the horse), which immediately made my eyes swell almost shut due to allergies. Anyway, I still love horses.
Finally, we found a pool. However, this is not your typical American pool. It is 6 euros a person to get in (for 2 hours). Notice how empty the pool is... that is because you are not allowed to swim in the pool without a swimming cap, which we did not pack with us. But, they will loan you one for 4 euros.... no thanks.
So, we did like everyone else and showered off when we were hot instead of getting in the pool.... crazy!! Nice banana hammock...
